It is much easier to design a page than to keep it current. In the interest of time management I am leaving much here that may be considered stale. Unfortunately the harsh realities of my chosen profession have conspired to severely compromise my liesure time. Therefore, much of the following has been frozen in time just like old Walt.
I am currently working on an architectural thesis project at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Fine Arts and this space attempts to document highlights from its research component. I am investigating the relationships between the islands transportation infrastructure and the demands of the conservation movement. My ever optimistic query, then, is how can the built environment, as an intervention, stand for a new set of ideas?
In an effort to better inform my study I hope to solicit your opinions on the future of the island, its growth and how best to deal with vehicular saturation levels. Why has public transportation never made a foothold on the island? Is the policy of stand bye service in jeopardy? Is legislating the number of cars allowed on the island a viable alternative? Will Nancy make good on her vow to move off the rock? These are the questions that keep me awake at night. I have attempted a downsizing of the graphic weight of the page, but I am still operating under the assumption that few among us are spending the time to read. Prove me wrong and send me a letter.
The new streamlined table of contents takes you to Steamship Authority information links, ongoing research pages, sketchy design and analysis, and a page to vent in my guestbook (if a certain system op can get his scripting act together before I matriculate).
An up to date focus.
Comments, criticism and suggestions, as always, are welcome.
